Courseware for Media Skills Program

Media Skills Program offers a comprehensive program of media training to suit all levels of experience. The staged approach allows participants to build on their knowledge and experience ensuring that they gain more confidence and competence at each session or workshop. Refreshers, which we encourage on an annual basis for company spokespeople, are available at any stage of the program.

It will also provide participants with an understanding of how to prepare for and conduct interviews, including: preparing for the interview; potential questions and key messages, language in an interview; plain speech, expert language and jargon, defining the parameters of your expertise, the importance of concise message delivery, media grabs; why they are so important, techniques for staying 'on message', techniques for radio and TV; voice production, body language, dress, what sells a story / what kills a story and dealing with tricky questions or issues.

At the conclusion of this Workshop, Participants will be equipped with:

• A complete understanding and acknowledgment of the need for, effective Media Communications.
• An appreciation of the effects of not having a Media Communications Strategy and Plan.
• A working knowledge of the role and conduct of the Media.
• A practiced knowledge of Media Communications techniques.
• Media Interview techniques in a variety of television, radio and print situations.
